What materials do I need to make a permanent collage on an old piece of furniture?

I have an old used art table that I will be converting into a vanity dressing table! I am so excited about it!!!. but the table is SOOOOOOO drab! I want to add a little spark and personality to it, so I am going to make a collage on it.

You can find the items you need in any arts and crafts store. Decoupage glue, to place everything-then a think coat to keep any edges from coming up. For your "plexi-glass" finish there are several products that you can use for this effect. My favorite is polyurethane and several coats of it. Good luck and good crafting!!
