Back pain on newish bed?
Around 6 months ago I bought a new queen-sized mattress which cost a fair bit of money and the sales assistant told me that because it's a good quality/expensive mattress, it should give good support for my back(had back problems with old mattress).
The new mattress is firm and is nicely padded/quilted, but I'm getting even more back pain and not sleeping well at all.
It's more comfortable sleeping on my new lounge suite, but I don't want to sleep on the couch forever.
Anyone have any tips to help ease back pain from a firm mattress?

Does your husband get the same back pain? If so then it is the bed.
If not it means you actually have a few back issues that are being irritated by the bed. A good bed will help minor back problems, but if they are chronic then a new bed may accentuate them.
Fix the mattress with a topper as it will help make it more comfortable, but fix your back also.
There are many things you can do at home to help, all simple enough and very fast at making improvements. Check the link below for some free techniques to try.
You should be able to stay in bed for as long as you wish --- with no back pain.
