I need recommendations on a good quality, FIRM mattress......................?

I have major back problems (just had surgery for a herniated disk about 4 or 5 months ago) and now all the pain I had before the surgery is back. I tried buying a new mattress that was supposed to be firm but the mattress topper was soft (bought it a few months before my surgery)...but not even a year later its sagging a lot in different spots, even after I rotated it a few times, and I CANNOT sleep without being in INTENSE pain. The mattress is definitely contributing to the pain! I cant return it b/c there is no warranty on it. Please help recommend a good, FIRM (but not extremely uncomfortable) mattress.

I LOVE my sleep number bed. You can make it as firm or as soft as you need it. You know how it is when once in a while you wish you had a different mattress? Well, with a Sleep Number, I do! And the beautiful thing is you don't have to buy a box spring. Your old box spring or even a piece of plywood will work just fine. Good luck.
