Moses basket questions?
I know this sounds daft but I'm getting really confused with moses baskets. I was given a wicker basket with the embroidered bit that goes around the outside, a hood cover and a semi-circle (well semi-oval really) almost thin cushion type of thing covered in the same embroidered material. I have no idea what that does - it couldn't go over the baby but maybe it goes under but then why isn't it a full oval shape? So that's one question. But I also want to know what sort of mattress I need to buy (how important is a top of the range one?) and what other bedding I would need and also would it probably just work out cheaper buying the whole thing new instead of buying the mattress, hood and bedding? Ahhh I'm getting confused. Could you recommend anything in the UK? Thanks!
That half oval is a little blanket, to be honest both of mine were out of a moses basket within 2 weeks and I don't know anyone that has lasted past 8 -12 absolute max. I would invest in a cot and a good matress for that as you may use it for up to 2 years, also can be used from birth then if they don't get on with the moses basket. Do not waste money on something that you are going to get very little use out of (if any at all 
) sorry but all the pennies will count once little one is here. If you getg a cot you can either go for traditional bedding or a baby sleeping bag, both are good.
