How do you clean suede?
We moved and my BF's buddies dirtied my beautiful tufted suede headboard. I know I should have covered it, too late now. I believe it is some sort of car grease. Is it even possible to clean it? If so, with what?
Bummer! If it is grease be careful not to spread it around by trying any liquid cleaner or solvent on it. "Fullers Earth" is a powder used by beauty spas as a facial mask as it absorbs oil (grease). If a local spa doesn't have any go to the link below. You need to apply it dry and lightly work it into the stain. Make sure your hands are clean and dry or wear gloves. Brush it off with a clean stiff brush. A suede brush is a brush with short brass wire bristles and will work best if you can find one. Try this several times and be careful not to wear a hole through the suede.You will likely have a permanent mark, but you can make it better. PS, when you dump the current BF, be sure not to tell the next one how the mark got there. Guys hate stories about stuff like that and get all threatened about knowing they weren't the "first" ..etc, etc.
