im trying to put a canopy bed together with odds and ends at a outlet furniture store?
I really want one but dont know how ,they have headboards and footboard do they need to match ? what about side rails I dont know all the parts i need just dont have 2000 for what i want
Well I don't have a headboard or a footboard, so I went to JoAnn fabrics and got a bunch of pretty netting-like fabric that I liked (prices vary depending on which fabric it is you want). I also got some fishing line and eye hooks from WalMart. I attached one eye hook on either side of my bed (to the ceiling). I looped the fishing line around it and secured it to the fabric to hold it up. I only did this over the head of my bed, but you could continue it down the rest of the bed as well if you wanted - it's really easy. Everyone that's seen it has told me they think it's really unique, an the best part is, if I move, I don't have to worry about a great big canopy bed 
ADD: I just read my answer and it doesn't make that much sense. What I did was basically the canopy part without the frame holding it up - that's where I used the fishing line and eye hooks. This way, instead of being held up from underneath like with a canopy bed frame, it's being held up from the top by hooks. Hope that makes more sense.
