But first three main things are make sure you have plenty of room(you need more space than what the bed will eventually take-up),Be sure you have all the parts,be sure to have the right tools. If you overlook any of these steps you are going to have a difficult if not impossible time.But lay it all out on th floor and attach your stretchers(the boards that go from headboard to foot board) to either end securely then do other end,then put the slats (if needed) across the stretchers
