loss of goods during move?
I recently used North American Van lines for a move- they broke a queen sleigh bed frame and my Gucci purse has vanished...I had a 250 deductable. They just sent me a check for 200 to settle my claim. Are they joking? The purse alone is worth 1000! Mind you I spent 17,000 on the move and it did NOT go smoothly. I am waiting for the claims adjuster to call me back. What are my legal rights? How do I go about asking to be reimbursed fairly? I want to go off on this lady but doubt that would get me anywhere. HELP!
I know I can afford a lawyer- I guess I am just wondering if I should pull out the lawyer card just yet. I mean, technically I can't prove the purse. But I am 100 percent possitive the movers either stole it or accidentaly threw it out when unpacking. How can I prove that??
I know I am an idiot for letting them pack it. I just had a baby and am now using a diaper bag all the time so I forgot all about it. I did take all my jewlery and passport etc. with me, thank god!
I have to believe that you actually read the contract you signed with the mover. That contract clearly outlines their liability.
You had the option to purchase more insurance if you wanted to and obviously didn't. I think you will find that they are not responsible for anything over and above what the contract says.
