How to spray paint evenly?
I bought some satin finish black spray paint to paint our headboard and footboard for our bed. I painted it and in the light it looks really uneven. Some parts look really shiny and some parts don't. Basically, in the light it looks crappy. I just kept going over it with more paint but it does not help. I just want the finish to look even. I'll buy whatever I need to buy, just tell me what to do!
Spray paint is your culprit. I would brush paint it on. If your hung up on using spray paint, keep the nozzle about 8 inches away and spray left to right while making sure to never stop spraying while aimed at your board. Use light coats and let it dry. Light sanding may help with a fine grit sandpaper. Also, if you want a shine on it, a clear coat might help fill in flaws. Apply clear coat after sanding with these same directions. Good Luck!
