Painting bedroom set?
I have two dressers and two nightstands that are oak and pretty dated... I want to liven them up with paint and new hardware.. do I sand the glossy stuff off first or can I just prime, paint and add new hardware? Is this a project for outside? Thanks in advance for all your tips, tricks and help!
You need to sand down the wood so the paint will be able to adhere to it. Then you need to prime the furniture. I suggest Kilz primer. Then you should put on 2 coats of paint along with a clear coat to make it nice and shiny. You may want to sand down the furniture outside but you don't necessarily have to do any of this outside if you don't want. It would probably be easier though.
