what is better for my baby to sleep,pack`n play or portable crib?
We are visiting India ,my native country for 4-5 months.My baby will be 5 months old then.I want to avoid my baby rolling `n falling from bed or hit the marbled floor if we sleep on mattress on floor. what would be the best arrangement for her to sleep? do I need to take a portable crib from here,US. or do we get some cribs there for 4 months? i am also on a visit to india and coincidentally my baby is also abt to be 5 months.knowing cribs/playpens and such like aren't available in india we carried his playpen,bouncy chair,sling and stroller right from abroad and i have never stopped feeling grateful for this.
i suggest you too do the same but in case if your baby has been co-sleeping with you then i fear,playpen or crib wont be of much use to you since yr baby will/can outright reject his new sleeping place.we had especially bought the playpen which has a changing station and mosquito mesh with it plus it folds into a portable bag of just 10 kgs.wherever we went from one city to another we carried it with us and so never had to worry abt his falling.
you do get cribs out there but they are sadly short of most safety norms.
one more suggestion: if visiting in winters,carry his sleeping bags, and winter onsies.you wont get these there either.winters in india are harder than US

the one i am using is not just a regular playpen.it is aportable crib which can later( or any time u want) be converted into a playpen when the baby is older.
