Where can I purchase a split box spring mattress for a Queen bed my stair layout requires this approach?
My queen mattress will fit up stairs with some significant persuasion but the traditional box spring will not fit up the stairs due to dimension of the stairs. It seems that an obvious solution would be to purchase a split-box spring if they exist?
I have the same issue. Several people have suggested that I can cut the wood portion of the box spring and fold in half, then take up the stairs and reattach with flat metal brackets. Looking at my box spring, this does not seem possible, but it may be worthwhile to look at yours, as there seems to be a wide variety of designs. However, I also have heard that JC Penney's and Macy's sell split queen box springs ($150 or so) in the Boston area. Depending on where you live, local department stores may carry them.
