How do I cap off a sink drain and water lines after removing a vanity?
I am remodeling my bathroom and have a vanity with a double sink which I want to chance to a vanity with single sink. I need to know how to cap off the sink drain and the water lines below floor level.
For the supply lines, ask for "Shark bite" fittings. Get a pair of caps, cut the pipes, clean as needed and push the fitting on.
for the drain, look for a rubber cap that is held on by a hose clamp.
Others will tell you this is not the best solution but since you can't solder a copper cap on to it it is best for you.
It is safe and up to code.
