Organization Tips! Please im desperate!?

I have a LOT of furniture in my room so it seems small but i need to organize because its messy- i have a full size bed, a vanity, a long dresser, a bedside dresser, a bookshelf (which im getting rid of), a tall organizer drawer thing with 2 small drawers and 3 big ones, and a short one too with 3 big drawers. I know its a lot i dont have a lot of stuff just a lot of furniture and i dont know what to do with the stuff on my bookshelf. oh and i have 2 large containers under my bed.

The best way I've found to get organized is to first go through my closets and drawers and take out any and all clothes and shoes and boots, etc I haven't worn in the last year. This is tough - but it can be done! Then, after all of these clothes are in bags, I take them to Goodwill. I instantly have more room to move and put away what I've decided to keep. Next, I decide what 'household' or knickknack things I don't want anymore and I give those to friends or to Goodwill.

Then, I hang all of my clothes back in my closets keeping my least used clothing in back, and what I wear often upfront. Now, the hardest part. Most people think they need a LOT of furniture for storage. This isn't true. After you've eliminated all of the clothes, knickknacks, pictures, etc - you'll be surprised at how many pieces of furniture you don't need. Choose a few pieces that fit well in your bedroom and have sufficient storage space for what you've kept. The rest needs to either be given to friends or family, or to Goodwill or other thrift stores.

Believe me, the less you have, the less you'll have walk around and dig through to find something. The professional organizers recommend that for every new piece of clothing bought, one item from the closet needs to be given away. Otherwise, it just starts the storage problem over again.
