Is it ok to leave unscrewed light bulbs in a light fixture..please read..?
I have a vanity mirror in my bathroom with 5 light bulb sockets across the top. My boyfriend bought one of those energy saving light bulbs and we put it in the middle socket and he unscrewed the other 4 just enough so that they stayed in but don't light up.
I'm wondering if that's dangerous to leave the other bulbs in the light sockets while they are unscrewed?
I hope that's not confusing and thanks
I have left it that way(because it would look tacky with 4 empty sockets and the energy saving bulb is really bright. I just thought that maybe electricity might still be running through the socket and wanted to be sure. Thanks for your answers
This is VERY safe. There is no danger. Actually, because the socket is filled with a light bulb no one will accidentally get electrocuted from an open socket.
Good idea. Plus, it looks better to have the fixture filled with bulbs than it would to have open empty light bulb sockets.
