DIY Vanity top?

Hi experts, I've read some previous treads on making, and tiling your own vanitytop, and I have pulled some good tips from them, thanks! I'm making a vanitytop with 6x6 tumbled marble tiles, with a drop in sink. And I'm not sure if I should do my layout before I cut the template for the sink or after, and how I should proceed after that.
Can you give me some advice on the order of steps please. thanking you in advance.

You cut the hole for the sink first and then lay the tile and then drop in the sink. I used to do cabinets, countertops and furniture for a living, so I do know this.
